Ford Coupe - chopped and hard-topped - in progress. Hope to get this finished in
the next year or so, unless we get into some serious customizing, like changing
the front end and grille. Also need to lower it down some. Our son Al may be at
this for awhile, but it will be cool when he does finally get it on the street!!
And of course, it will be Flathead powered. Note the great Champion Head Covers
made by Joe's Speed Shop!!
Twin-engine 296CI Flathead Ford rear engine dragster.
Both engines have
Hilborn fuel injection on Nitro, 350 Turbo Transmission, with
Mark Williams 9" Ford rear-end. Project has to be brought current and tech
inspection to get it certified for NHRA, but have had it at Tulsa Raceway Park
and at Mokan Raceway trying to get all the bugs worked out of the fuel system
and get it operating properly. Howard has been having a great time
playing with this. They will get it all figured out one of these days.
Newest project in the shop is this front engine dragster, Hemi powered, of course!! They are running this car with the Southwest Jr Fuelers out of Texas. Great bunch of guys and a lot of fun to race with. 399ci Chrysler Hemi, fuel injected on alcohol. Finally got the body panels powder-coated white and got some red stripes on it so it's looking good. I will get pictures posted one of these days. 1320 Magazine's August issue has a picture of it at Denton, TX. Howard is having lots of fun with this project.
