Ford Coupe - chopped and hard-topped - in progress. Hope to get this finished in
the next year or so, unless we get into some serious customizing, like changing
the front end and grille. Also need to lower it down some. Our son Al may be at
this for awhile, but it will be cool when he does finally get it on the street!!
And of course, it will be Flathead powered. Note the great Champion Head Covers
made by Joe's Speed Shop!!
Twin-engine 296CI Flathead Ford rear engine dragster.
Both engines have
Hilborn fuel injection on Nitro, 350 Turbo Transmission, with
Mark Williams 9" Ford rear-end. Project has to be brought current and tech
inspection to get it certified for NHRA, but have had it at Tulsa Raceway Park
and at Mokan Raceway trying to get all the bugs worked out of the fuel system
and get it operating properly. Howard and Joe have been having a great time
playing with this. Hopefully this year, they will have it fully functional.
Newest project in the shop is this front engine dragster, Hemi powered, of course!! Mike Brown built the chassis and it is now on the showroom floor and Howard has the axles and wheels on it and the motor and transmission installed. He has the body finished now and is plumbing the fuel system. We have had the car to the track and it handles great. Howard is getting his license with the 354ci motor and will build a 392ci motor this winter to go run with the SW Junior Fuel guys.
